Range Rover battery replacement in Dubai needs the right size, the right type and a reset of the battery monitoring system afterwards. We come to the car 24/7, test the main battery and the second battery if your model has one, then jump-start the car or replace what has failed. From the 2013 model year the full-size Range Rover keeps its batteries in the boot.

Range Rover battery sizes by model

Typical Gulf-spec fitment for the Range Rover models we see most. Engine and model year can change it, so we match the label on your current battery before dispatch.

Battery registration on Range Rover

  • Every current Range Rover needs a battery monitoring system reset with a diagnostic tool once the new battery is in. Where two are fitted, we identify which one is being replaced. Whether the reset is included is confirmed before dispatch.

Range Rover in the UAE: what wears the battery

A Range Rover in the UAE is rarely just driven. It idles outside with the cabin cooling, raises and lowers its air suspension at every stop and powers screens, cooled seats and soft-close doors. Much of that happens at low engine speed or with the engine off, when the battery is doing the work alone.

Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrids are sold in the UAE, and recent six-cylinder models are 48V mild hybrids. All still need a 12V battery to boot the electronics. If it is flat the car will not start, whatever the hybrid battery holds.

What is different about Range Rover batteries

  • Two batteries on newer models

Start-stop Range Rovers carry a main battery and a smaller auxiliary one. The second battery keeps screens and control units powered while the starter cranks. When it weakens, start-stop switches itself off and a warning may appear, even though the car still starts normally.

  • Batteries in the boot

On the 2013-on Range Rover the main battery is under the boot floor, with the auxiliary battery behind a side panel. Posts under the bonnet are provided for jump-starting. Earlier models and the Evoque have the main battery in the engine bay.

  • Low Battery, Please Start Engine

This message appears when you use the screens, audio or climate with the engine off and charge drops. It is a warning, not a fault. If it shows within minutes of switching off, the battery has little reserve left and should be tested.

  • BMS reset after replacement

A monitoring module on the negative terminal tracks the battery's state of charge and age. After a swap it is reset with a diagnostic tool. Skip that step and the car can keep limiting features and charging for a battery that is no longer there.

Jump start, test or replace your Range Rover

A car that will not start does not always need a new battery. The technician tests first, then does the smallest job that gets you moving.

Battery replacement

When it fits: The battery fails the test, will not hold charge, or is swollen or leaking.

  • New battery matched to your car, delivered and fitted where you are parked
  • Charging system checked once the engine is running
  • Old battery taken away for recycling, warranty up to 24 months
How it works

Car Battery Jump Start

When it fits: Lights were left on or the car sat for days, and the battery is otherwise healthy.

  • A technician sent to your location in Dubai at any hour, with the arrival estimate confirmed before dispatch
  • A professional booster with surge protection instead of cables run from another car
  • Connection at the points your car maker specifies, including dedicated jump posts under the bonnet

Car Battery Testing

When it fits: Slow cranking, a warning light, or a battery that keeps going flat.

  • Resting voltage reading: about 12.6 to 12.8 V is healthy, and below 12.4 V the battery needs a recharge
  • Conductance or load test: the battery should hold 9.6 V or more under load
  • Charging voltage with the engine running, normally about 13.8 to 14.4 V

Range Rover battery questions

All questions and answers
Why does my Range Rover have two batteries?

The second battery supports the start-stop system. Each time the engine restarts, it holds voltage steady for the screens, lights and control units so nothing flickers or resets. It is smaller than the main battery and ages separately, so one can fail while the other still tests fine.

Which Range Rover battery do you replace on site?

The main battery on all models. The auxiliary battery sits behind boot trim on some cars and takes longer, so we confirm before dispatch whether it can be done at your location. Either way the technician tests both and shows you the readings before anything is replaced.

Can a weak battery cause suspension or gearbox warnings on a Range Rover?

Yes. Low voltage during cranking can make several control units log faults at once, so the dash may show suspension, gearbox or stability warnings together. They often clear once a healthy battery is fitted and the car is driven. If one stays on, it needs a diagnostic scan.

What size battery does a Range Rover Sport take?

Most recent Sport models use an AGM main battery in the H8 case, around 90 to 95 Ah, with a smaller auxiliary battery on start-stop cars. Earlier Sport models carry the battery under the bonnet. We match the size to your year and engine before dispatch.
