ACDelco is the parts brand of General Motors. Its name joins two older GM companies: AC, from the initials of spark plug maker Albert Champion, and Delco, the Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company that developed the electric starter first fitted to the 1912 Cadillac. Batteries have been part of the catalogue for decades.
In the Middle East, ACDelco batteries have been produced with the Middle East Battery Company, MEBCo, in Saudi Arabia since 1998. By 2021 General Motors reported 50 million ACDelco batteries produced and sold in the region. That makes it one of the regionally built options on UAE shelves, with a short supply route from factory to car.
