Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information 247CarBattery collects when you visit 247carbattery.com or contact us by phone or WhatsApp, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to the mobile car battery and car services we provide in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Updated

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

247CarBattery runs the website 247carbattery.com and provides a 24/7 mobile car battery service in Dubai, with coverage in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. We test, jump-start and replace car batteries at the customer's location and arrange other car services, some of which are carried out by partner workshops.

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean 247CarBattery. "You" means anyone who visits this website or contacts us about a service.

This website has no user accounts, no online checkout and no online payment. You reach us by calling or by sending a WhatsApp message, so most of the personal information we hold is what you tell us in that call or chat.

We handle personal information in line with the laws of the United Arab Emirates that apply to us, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data where it applies.

This policy covers this website and our services only. Services run by others, such as WhatsApp, Tabby and Tamara, are governed by the privacy policies of those companies.

2. Information you give us

When you call or message us, we collect the details needed to quote for the job and send a technician. You decide what to share, but without some of these details we may not be able to help.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health data and do not need it, so please do not send it. This website does not collect bank card details. Card payments are processed by the card payment provider, and instalment payments by Tabby or Tamara.

The information you may give us includes:

  • Your name and your phone or WhatsApp number.
  • The location of the car: an address, a shared map pin, a building, a parking level or a landmark.
  • Vehicle details: make, model, year and engine type, and the plate or chassis number where it helps to identify the right battery.
  • Photos or videos you send, for example of the battery label, the dashboard warning lights or the engine bay.
  • A description of the problem and anything else you write or say in the conversation.
  • Invoice and payment records for work we carry out: what was fitted, when, the warranty term and how you paid.

3. Information collected automatically

When you visit this website, some information is collected automatically by our hosting provider and by the analytics and advertising tools described in this policy. It shows how the site is used.

This information identifies a browser or a device rather than a named person. It is collected whether or not you call or message us.

It includes:

  • Device and browser details: device type, operating system, browser type, screen size and language.
  • Usage details: the pages you view, how long you stay, the page or advert that brought you here, and actions such as tapping the call or WhatsApp button.
  • Your IP address and the approximate location worked out from it, usually at city or region level.
  • Cookies, similar technologies and advertising identifiers that recognise a browser or device across visits.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to deliver the service you asked for and to run and improve our business. We do not use it for purposes unrelated to those listed in this section.

We process it because it is needed to deal with your request and carry out the service, because you have consented where consent is required, or because the law requires or permits it.

If we send you a service reminder or an offer, you can ask us to stop at any time and we will.

We use your information:

  • To answer your enquiry, identify the correct battery or service and give you a quote.
  • To dispatch a technician to the right place and keep you updated on the arrival estimate.
  • To carry out the work, issue an invoice and take payment.
  • To keep warranty records so that a later warranty claim can be checked.
  • To follow up after a service, for example to check that the battery is working or to deal with a complaint.
  • To arrange work with a partner workshop when the job needs one.
  • To measure how this website and our adverts perform, and to improve them.
  • To show our adverts to people who have visited this website before.
  • To prevent fraud and misuse, protect our staff and comply with the law.

5. Cookies and Google advertising

Cookies are small files that your browser stores on your device. This website may use cookies and similar technologies for two things: understanding how the site is used, and measuring and delivering advertising. The tools described in this section may be in use now or may be added later.

We use Google Analytics to see how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your device type and your approximate location, and Google processes that information to produce reports for us. Google describes this on its page "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".

We advertise through Google Ads and use Google Ads conversion tracking. When you arrive from one of our adverts, a cookie or identifier lets Google report to us that the advert led to a visit, a call or a tap on the WhatsApp button. That shows us which adverts are working.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and to other sites on the internet.

We may also use similar advertising cookies from other advertising platforms, which work in the same way.

You can control this in several ways:

  • Opt out of personalised advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Opt out of the use of cookies for personalised advertising by other participating vendors by visiting aboutads.info.
  • Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop Google Analytics from using data about your visits.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them and you can still call or message us.

6. Remarketing

Remarketing means showing our adverts to people who have already visited this website. We may use Google Ads remarketing and similar services from other advertising platforms to do this.

When you visit, a cookie or advertising identifier adds your browser or device to an audience list. Google and other vendors may then show our adverts to that browser or device on search results, on video platforms and on other websites and apps in their advertising networks.

The remarketing we do through this website relies on cookies and advertising identifiers. We do not build remarketing lists from sensitive information.

The choices listed in the cookies section also stop remarketing adverts based on your visit. On a phone or tablet you can also reset or limit the advertising identifier in the device settings.

7. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the people and companies that need it for the purposes in this policy. We do not sell personal information, and we do not give it to others for their own marketing.

Some of these providers, including Google and Meta, may process information on servers outside the United Arab Emirates. Where information is transferred abroad, we rely on the grounds for transfer that the applicable law allows.

We share information with:

  • Our technicians, who need your name, number, location and vehicle details to reach you and do the job.
  • Partner workshops and towing or recovery operators, when the service you asked for is carried out by them. They receive only what that job needs.
  • Tabby or Tamara, when you choose to pay through them. They collect and use your information under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Card payment providers that process card payments.
  • Service providers that support our business, such as website hosting, analytics, advertising, communications and accounting providers.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) and telephone network operators, which carry the messages and calls between us and handle them under their own policies.
  • Courts, police, regulators and other authorities, where the law requires it or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.

8. Location data

Your precise location reaches us only when you send it. The coverage map on this website can use your location, but it does so inside your browser.

The coverage map asks for your location only when you press the location button, and your browser asks for your permission first. If you allow it, the location is used in your browser to centre the map and to pre-fill a WhatsApp message that you can choose to send. This website does not store that location, and it is not sent to us unless you send the message.

If you send a location pin or an address on WhatsApp, or give it over the phone, we use it to dispatch the technician and keep it with the record of the job.

Separately, analytics tools estimate a general location from your IP address, normally no more precise than a city or region.

You can refuse the browser's location request or withdraw the permission at any time in your browser or device settings. You can still call us and describe where the car is.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

You can ask us to delete information sooner, as explained in the section on your rights.

How long that is depends on the type of information:

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a job are kept for a limited time in case you contact us again.
  • Job, invoice and warranty records are kept for at least the warranty term, and for as long as accounting, tax and other laws require records to be kept.
  • WhatsApp chats and call logs stay on our business devices and accounts for as long as they are useful for service and warranty follow-up.
  • Analytics and advertising data is kept by the providers for the periods set in their tools. Cookies expire after a set period or when you delete them.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to customer details is limited to the staff, technicians and partners who need them for the job.

Messages on WhatsApp are protected by the encryption that WhatsApp provides, and calls are carried by the phone network. We do not control those systems.

No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you think your information has been misused, contact us straight away at help@247carbattery.com.

11. Children

This website and our services are meant for adults who own a vehicle or are responsible for one. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your rights and how to use them

You have rights over the personal information we hold about you. To use any of them, email help@247carbattery.com or contact us on the phone number or WhatsApp shown on this website.

Tell us what you are asking for and the phone number you used with us, so we can find your records. We may ask for proof that the request comes from you.

We reply within a reasonable time and do not charge for a reasonable request. We may have to keep some information where the law requires it, for example invoices and warranty records, and we will tell you when that is the case.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may raise the matter with the competent data protection authority in the United Arab Emirates.

Depending on the law that applies, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, you may ask us to:

  • Tell you whether we hold information about you and give you a copy of it.
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete information that we no longer need or have no lawful reason to keep.
  • Restrict or stop a particular use of your information.
  • Stop using your information for direct marketing.
  • Send the information you gave us to you or to another provider in a usable format, where this is technically possible.
  • Treat a consent you gave earlier as withdrawn. This does not affect what was done before the withdrawal.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, the tools on this website or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

The current version always appears on this page. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will make that clear on the website.
