Tesla battery replacement in Dubai, 24/7

A Tesla has a small low-voltage battery as well as its main pack, and when it fails the car will not wake, unlock or drive. In Dubai we attend 24/7 to test it, support it from an external supply so the car powers up, and replace it where the model allows. Older cars use a 12V lead-acid battery; newer builds use a lithium-ion unit of about 16 V.

Typical Gulf-spec fitment for the Tesla models we see most. Engine and model year can change it, so we match the label on your current battery before dispatch.

Battery registration on Tesla

  • Lead-acid Teslas generally accept a new 12V battery without coding, and the alert usually clears once the car has re-tested it. The lithium-ion low-voltage battery is a Tesla-supplied part that is replaced through Tesla service, not at the roadside.

Jump start, test or replace your Tesla

A car that will not start does not always need a new battery. The technician tests first, then does the smallest job that gets you moving.

Battery replacement

When it fits: The battery fails the test, will not hold charge, or is swollen or leaking.

  • New battery matched to your car, delivered and fitted where you are parked
  • Charging system checked once the engine is running
  • Old battery taken away for recycling, warranty up to 24 months
How it works

Car Battery Jump Start

When it fits: Lights were left on or the car sat for days, and the battery is otherwise healthy.

  • A technician sent to your location in Dubai at any hour, with the arrival estimate confirmed before dispatch
  • A professional booster with surge protection instead of cables run from another car
  • Connection at the points your car maker specifies, including dedicated jump posts under the bonnet
How it works

Car Battery Testing

When it fits: Slow cranking, a warning light, or a battery that keeps going flat.

  • Resting voltage reading: about 12.6 to 12.8 V is healthy, and below 12.4 V the battery needs a recharge
  • Conductance or load test: the battery should hold 9.6 V or more under load
  • Charging voltage with the engine running, normally about 13.8 to 14.4 V

What is different about Tesla batteries

  • Lead-acid or lithium-ion

Model S and Model X built before the 2021 refresh, and Model 3 and Model Y built before roughly the end of 2021, use a 12V lead-acid battery. Later cars use a lithium-ion low-voltage battery. The touchscreen lists the type under Software, Additional Vehicle Information.

  • The car warns you first

A Tesla normally shows an alert asking you to schedule service or replace the low-voltage battery before it fails. The car keeps driving for a while after the alert appears. Acting on it early is far easier than dealing with a locked, dark car.

  • Not a jump-start donor

Tesla states in its owner manuals that the car must not be used to jump-start another vehicle, because doing so can damage it. The reverse is allowed: an external supply connected at the jump post can wake a Tesla with a flat low-voltage battery.

  • Opening a dead Tesla

With no low-voltage power the bonnet will not release from the screen or app. On Model 3 and Model Y, two leads behind the front tow-eye cover accept an external 12V supply to pop the latch. Our technicians carry a supply for this.

Tesla in the UAE: what wears the battery

Teslas in the UAE serve as private commuter cars and in some taxi and limousine fleets. Parked in the sun, the car wakes repeatedly to cool the cabin or run Sentry Mode, and each wake cycles the low-voltage battery. Lead-acid units in these conditions often need replacing within a few years.

On Teslas with a 12V lead-acid battery we test and replace it at the car. Newer cars with the lithium-ion unit can only be powered from an external supply at the jump post; replacement goes through Tesla. We confirm by model and year before dispatch.

How a Tesla battery replacement works

You know the battery, the arrival estimate and what is included before a technician leaves for your car.

  1. Send your location

Call or WhatsApp your location pin, the car make, model and year, and where it is parked.

  2. We confirm before dispatch

You hear which battery fits, whether registration is part of the job and the estimated arrival time.

  3. Tested at the car

The technician checks the battery and the charging system and tells you what the readings mean.

  4. Started or replaced

A jump start if that is enough. If not, the new battery goes in, the old one leaves with us and you pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara.

Tesla battery questions

All questions and answers
Can you jump-start a Tesla?

A Tesla with a flat low-voltage battery can be woken from an external supply connected at its jump post, after which the main pack recharges the small battery through the converter in the car. This does not charge the main pack. If the main pack is empty the car needs a charger or recovery, not a jump.

Can my Tesla jump-start another car?

No. The Tesla owner manuals say the car cannot be used to jump-start another vehicle and that trying can cause damage. The low-voltage system is sized to run its own electronics, not to crank a petrol engine. Call us for the other car instead.

How do I know which low-voltage battery my Tesla has?

Open Controls, then Software, then Additional Vehicle Information on the touchscreen. It shows whether the low-voltage battery is lead-acid or lithium-ion. As a rough guide, Model 3 and Model Y from late 2021 and refreshed Model S and Model X are lithium-ion. Tell us the result when you book.

My Tesla says the low-voltage battery needs replacing. Can I keep driving?

Usually for a short time, but do not leave it. Once the battery drops too far the car may not wake or unlock. Book a replacement within days: at the car through us if it is a lead-acid type, or through Tesla service if it is lithium-ion.
