Volkswagen battery replacement in Dubai, 24/7

We test, jump-start and replace Volkswagen batteries at your location in Dubai, at any hour of the day or night. Volkswagen fits three battery types depending on engine and year: flooded, EFB and AGM. Matching the type already in the car matters more than the brand on the label, so we ask for model, year and a photo of the old battery before dispatch.

Volkswagen battery sizes by model

Typical Gulf-spec fitment for the Volkswagen models we see most. Engine and model year can change it, so we match the label on your current battery before dispatch.

ModelBattery typeTypical sizeNote
GolfEFBDIN 60 EFB (H5, 60 Ah)Typical for 1.4 TSI cars with start-stop. Older Golfs without start-stop take a flooded battery in the same case.
Golf GTIAGMDIN 70 AGM (H6, 70 Ah)Earlier GTI generations without start-stop were fitted with a flooded battery.
TiguanAGMDIN 70 AGM (H6, 70 Ah)First-generation cars without start-stop use a flooded DIN 70.
TouaregAGMDIN 95 AGM (H8, 95 Ah)—
TeramontAGMDIN 80 AGM (H7, 80 Ah)Some 2.0 TSI cars take DIN 70 AGM (H6). We confirm against the old battery before dispatch.

Sizes are a guide, not a guarantee. Send a photo of the battery label for an exact match.

Battery registration on Volkswagen

  • Volkswagens with a battery sensor on the negative terminal need the new battery adapted using its BEM code or substitute values. Models without the sensor need nothing. We confirm before dispatch which applies and whether adaptation is included.

What is different about Volkswagen batteries

  • Keep the insulating sleeve

Most Volkswagens have a fabric or plastic jacket around the battery. It slows heat soak from the engine bay, and it is often thrown away during a careless swap. We refit it on the new battery, or tell you if the old one is too damaged to reuse.

  • EFB or AGM by engine

Start-stop Volkswagens with smaller engines often leave the factory with EFB, while GTI, R and V6 models usually get AGM. Gulf-spec cars built without start-stop commonly run a flooded battery. An AGM car must stay AGM, and an EFB car should get EFB or better.

  • Touareg battery under the seat

On earlier Touareg generations the main battery is under the front left seat, and some engines add a second battery in the boot. The seat has to be moved to reach it, so the job takes longer than on a Golf or Tiguan.

  • Start-stop quits before the battery

The first hint on a start-stop Volkswagen is often the engine no longer switching off at traffic lights, because the system disables itself when charge is low. Slow cranking after a day parked in the sun usually follows. A test at that stage can prevent a no-start.

Jump start, test or replace your Volkswagen

A car that will not start does not always need a new battery. The technician tests first, then does the smallest job that gets you moving.

Battery replacement

When it fits: The battery fails the test, will not hold charge, or is swollen or leaking.

  • New battery matched to your car, delivered and fitted where you are parked
  • Charging system checked once the engine is running
  • Old battery taken away for recycling, warranty up to 24 months
How it works

Car Battery Jump Start

When it fits: Lights were left on or the car sat for days, and the battery is otherwise healthy.

  • A technician sent to your location in Dubai at any hour, with the arrival estimate confirmed before dispatch
  • A professional booster with surge protection instead of cables run from another car
  • Connection at the points your car maker specifies, including dedicated jump posts under the bonnet
How it works

Car Battery Testing

When it fits: Slow cranking, a warning light, or a battery that keeps going flat.

  • Resting voltage reading: about 12.6 to 12.8 V is healthy, and below 12.4 V the battery needs a recharge
  • Conductance or load test: the battery should hold 9.6 V or more under load
  • Charging voltage with the engine running, normally about 13.8 to 14.4 V
How it works

Volkswagen in the UAE: what wears the battery

The Golf, Jetta, Passat and Tiguan are daily commuters in the UAE, parked outdoors at offices and metro stations right through summer. Their batteries sit under the bonnet beside a hot engine, which is why Volkswagen wraps them in an insulating sleeve. Heat ends most of these batteries long before mileage does.

Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.6 models, many of them imported, are now common in the UAE. Each carries a small 12V battery that powers the locks, screens and control units and switches on the high-voltage system. A flat one stops the car from starting up.

How a Volkswagen battery replacement works

You know the battery, the arrival estimate and what is included before a technician leaves for your car.

  1. Send your location

Call or WhatsApp your location pin, the car make, model and year, and where it is parked.

  2. We confirm before dispatch

You hear which battery fits, whether registration is part of the job and the estimated arrival time.

  3. Tested at the car

The technician checks the battery and the charging system and tells you what the readings mean.

  4. Started or replaced

A jump start if that is enough. If not, the new battery goes in, the old one leaves with us and you pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara.

Volkswagen battery questions

All questions and answers
Does my Volkswagen need a battery adaptation after replacement?

Only if it has a battery monitoring sensor, which is the case on most start-stop models and the Touareg. Look for a small module on the negative terminal clamp. Without adaptation the car keeps charging for the old battery. Older Golf, Jetta and Passat models without the sensor need none.

Can I put a normal battery in a start-stop Volkswagen?

No. A flooded battery in a start-stop car fails quickly because it cannot handle the repeated restarts and partial charge. EFB is the minimum, and a car that came with AGM must get AGM. Check the old battery's label, or send us a photo and we read it for you.

What battery size does a Golf GTI take?

Recent GTI models with start-stop typically use a DIN 70 AGM battery in the H6 case. Earlier cars without start-stop were fitted with a flooded battery. A smaller case may sit in the tray but leaves less reserve for summer. We confirm against your model year before dispatch.

My Volkswagen battery light came on while driving. Should I stop?

The red battery light means the alternator is not charging, not that the battery is old. The car is running on stored charge and will stop when that is used up. Switch off what you can, pull over somewhere safe and call us. We test the charging system on site.
