Flat battery in a Chevrolet anywhere in Dubai: we come to the car at any hour, 24/7, test it, and either jump-start it or replace the battery on the spot. Chevrolet sells American-built trucks, Korean-built small cars and Chinese-built crossovers under one badge here, and they do not share a battery standard. We match the battery to your exact model and year before dispatch.

Chevrolet battery sizes by model

Typical Gulf-spec fitment for the Chevrolet models we see most. Engine and model year can change it, so we match the label on your current battery before dispatch.

ModelBattery typeTypical sizeNote
TahoeAGMGroup 48 AGM (H6, 70 Ah)Typical for the 5.3 V8 with start-stop from 2021. The 6.2 V8 takes a Group 94R (H7), and 2000 to 2006 trucks use a side-terminal Group 78.
SuburbanAGMGroup 48 AGM (H6, 70 Ah)H6 on the 5.3 V8, a longer H7 on the 6.2. Earlier trucks without start-stop were built with flooded batteries.

Chevrolet in the UAE: what wears the battery

Tahoe and Suburban are family and fleet vehicles in the UAE, often left idling with front and rear air conditioning running while waiting. Spark, Groove and Captiva do short city trips. Camaro and Corvette may sit for days. Idling and short runs undercharge the battery, and parked cars drain it.

Bolt EV and Bolt EUV have a 12V battery under the bonnet that powers up the car before the high-voltage pack connects. If it is flat the car will not turn on. We test, jump and replace it and confirm the fitment before dispatch.

Jump start, test or replace your Chevrolet

A car that will not start does not always need a new battery. The technician tests first, then does the smallest job that gets you moving.

Battery replacement

When it fits: The battery fails the test, will not hold charge, or is swollen or leaking.

  • New battery matched to your car, delivered and fitted where you are parked
  • Charging system checked once the engine is running
  • Old battery taken away for recycling, warranty up to 24 months
How it works

Car Battery Jump Start

When it fits: Lights were left on or the car sat for days, and the battery is otherwise healthy.

  • A technician sent to your location in Dubai at any hour, with the arrival estimate confirmed before dispatch
  • A professional booster with surge protection instead of cables run from another car
  • Connection at the points your car maker specifies, including dedicated jump posts under the bonnet
How it works

Car Battery Testing

When it fits: Slow cranking, a warning light, or a battery that keeps going flat.

  • Resting voltage reading: about 12.6 to 12.8 V is healthy, and below 12.4 V the battery needs a recharge
  • Conductance or load test: the battery should hold 9.6 V or more under load
  • Charging voltage with the engine running, normally about 13.8 to 14.4 V
How it works

What is different about Chevrolet batteries

  • One badge, three battery standards

Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado and Camaro are built in North America and use BCI groups. Spark and Cruze came from Korea, and the current Captiva and Groove come from China, with smaller DIN-case or JIS batteries. The name on the grille does not tell you the size.

  • Variable charging on trucks

GM trucks and SUVs regulate alternator output to save fuel, so a voltmeter can show around 13 V at cruise and over 14 V at other times. A low reading alone does not prove a fault. We load test the battery and check charging under demand.

  • Side terminals on older trucks

Tahoe, Suburban and Silverado models from the early 2000s use Group 78 batteries with side terminals and a small bolt in place of a clamp. Later generations switched to top posts in an H6 or H7 case. We carry both styles.

  • Camaro battery in the boot

The Camaro carries its battery in the boot, not under the bonnet. A battery there needs its vent tube reconnected after fitting so gas is carried outside the car. A jump-start connection is provided under the bonnet for emergencies.

How a Chevrolet battery replacement works

You know the battery, the arrival estimate and what is included before a technician leaves for your car.

  1. Send your location

Call or WhatsApp your location pin, the car make, model and year, and where it is parked.

  2. We confirm before dispatch

You hear which battery fits, whether registration is part of the job and the estimated arrival time.

  3. Tested at the car

The technician checks the battery and the charging system and tells you what the readings mean.

  4. Started or replaced

A jump start if that is enough. If not, the new battery goes in, the old one leaves with us and you pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara.

Chevrolet battery questions

All questions and answers
What battery does a Chevrolet Tahoe use?

Recent Tahoe models with start-stop use an AGM battery, usually a Group 48 (H6) on the 5.3 V8 and a Group 94R (H7) on the 6.2. Trucks from the early 2000s use a side-terminal Group 78. Tell us the year and engine and we bring the right one.

My Tahoe voltmeter drops to 13 V while driving. Is the alternator failing?

Not necessarily. GM trucks lower charging voltage on purpose when the battery is full and electrical demand is light. A battery warning light, dimming lights or a reading that stays under 12.5 V with the engine running are the signs to act on. We can test both battery and alternator on site.

Can you change the battery on a Chevrolet Camaro in a basement car park?

Yes. The Camaro battery is in the boot, so the technician needs the boot open and a little space behind the car. Tell us the tower, level and bay number when you send your location, and let building security know a technician is coming.

Is ACDelco the original battery for Chevrolet?

ACDelco is the General Motors parts brand and the factory fit on North American-built Chevrolets. We stock it alongside other brands in the same sizes. Any battery we fit matches the original group size, terminal layout and technology, and carries a warranty of up to 24 months.
