Send a close-up and a wider shot of the scratch, the car colour and your location. Run a fingernail across it and tell us whether the nail catches.
Depth check and plan
If the nail glides over, polishing should clear it. If it catches or you see grey primer or metal, we explain the touch-up or paint options and quote accordingly.
Polish or touch-up
The technician cleans the area, works the scratch with compound and a machine polisher, and refines the finish. Chips and thin deep lines are filled with matched touch-up paint.
Check in the light
The panel is wiped down and inspected under a lamp and in daylight with you. Anything that could not be fully removed is pointed out, with the reason.

How do I know if a scratch can be polished out?
Use the fingernail test. Drag a nail lightly across the scratch. If it does not catch, the mark is in the clear coat and polishing will normally remove it. If the nail catches, or you can see a different colour underneath, the scratch has gone through and needs touch-up or paint.
Does polishing remove paint from the car?
Polishing removes a very thin layer of clear coat to level the surface around the scratch. Done properly on a small area, that is safe. It cannot be repeated endlessly on the same spot, which is one reason deep scratches are better filled or repainted than polished until they vanish.
Is touch-up paint invisible?
No. Touch-up fills the scratch with matching colour, protects the metal and makes the mark hard to notice from a normal distance. Up close, at an angle, the line can still be seen. For an invisible result on a deep scratch, the panel has to be repainted.
