AGM in H7 or H8
Current Volvos specify AGM for the main battery, usually 80 Ah in the H7 case or 95 Ah in the H8, depending on engine and equipment. The two sizes are secured differently in the car, so the size already fitted is the size we bring.
Does the EC40 need battery registration?
Volvos with a battery monitoring sensor need it reset with a diagnostic tool after replacement, so the car stops charging for an aged battery. Older models have no sensor. We confirm before dispatch whether the reset is included.

A Volvo EC40 typically takes an AGM or EFB battery, in the range DIN 70 – DIN 100 (L3–L5). The EC40 uses start-stop and energy recovery, so it needs an AGM or EFB battery. A conventional battery in its place wears out within months.
Can you replace a EC40 battery where it is parked?

Does the EC40 need battery registration?
It depends on the year and specification. Versions with a battery sensor or start-stop need the new battery registered or the monitoring reset. Tell us the model year and we confirm before dispatch whether it applies and whether it is included.
How long does a EC40 battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Is a 'power save mode' warning a sign the battery is dying?
Not always. It appears whenever charge is low, for example after sitting with the ignition on and the engine off. A good drive may clear it. If it returns every few days, the battery has likely lost capacity, and a load test at the car will confirm it.
