Fiamm batteries are engineered first for European roads, where summers are milder. In Dubai the same Titanium or Ecoforce battery faces far higher bonnet temperatures, which speed up plate corrosion and self-discharge. Expect a shorter life than a European owner would see, and have it tested before each summer instead of waiting for a slow crank.
Who makes Fiamm batteries
Fiamm was founded in 1942 in Montecchio Maggiore, near Vicenza in northern Italy. The name is an acronym that goes back to its early work on batteries for small goods vehicles. The company grew into a major Italian starter-battery maker, supplying car manufacturers with factory-fit batteries as well as selling into the replacement market across Europe.
Ownership has changed several times in recent years. Hitachi Chemical bought 51 percent of the battery business, Fiamm Energy Technology, in 2017. That stake passed to Showa Denko in 2020, and the parent was renamed Resonac in 2023. In December 2025 the investment group Aurelius completed its purchase of the company from Resonac. The headquarters remains in the Vicenza area.
The car range is split by what the car asks of its battery. Titanium Black and Titanium Pro are flooded batteries for cars without start-stop. Ecoforce AFB, the Fiamm name for an enhanced flooded battery, serves cars that only stop and restart the engine. Ecoforce AGM is for cars that also recover energy under braking.

Battery types: flooded, EFB, AGM and 12V lithium
The type your car left the factory with decides what can replace it. Fitting a cheaper type than the car was built for is the most common reason a new battery fails early.

Worth knowing before you choose Fiamm
Fiamm is stocked less widely in the UAE than Varta or Bosch, so a specific size may not be on the shelf. We tell you before dispatch and offer an equivalent.
The range follows European DIN sizes. JIS sizes for a Toyota or a Nissan are better covered by other brands.
AFB is not a substitute for AGM. A car built with AGM must get Ecoforce AGM, never the AFB version.

The car-battery company, Fiamm Energy Technology, was bought by the investment group Aurelius from the Japanese company Resonac, in a deal completed in December 2025. Before that it passed through Hitachi Chemical and Showa Denko. The business itself is still Italian-based, with its headquarters in the Vicenza area where it started in 1942.
What is the difference between Ecoforce AFB and Ecoforce AGM?
AFB is an improved flooded battery, the type other brands call EFB. It suits cars that only switch the engine off at stops. AGM holds the electrolyte in glass mat and handles deeper, more frequent cycling, which cars with brake energy recovery demand. The car decides: fit the type it was built with.

Small European hatchbacks typically take compact DIN sizes such as L1 or L2. Versions without start-stop use a Titanium battery, and versions with start-stop usually need Ecoforce AFB or AGM. The exact case and capacity vary by engine and year, so we check your model before a technician is sent.
Should I choose Titanium Pro or Titanium Black?
Both are flooded batteries for cars without start-stop. Titanium Black is the basic replacement. Titanium Pro is the higher-output version and makes more sense for a car with many electrical consumers, or one that spends long periods idling with the air conditioning running. Neither is suitable for a start-stop car.
