On the G, Q50, Q70 and FX or QX70, the battery sits at the rear corner of the engine bay beneath a plastic cover. The cover and its clips come off first. It is a normal design, not a fault, but it adds a few steps to the swap.
QX80 shares the Patrol platform
The QX80 and the earlier QX56 are built on the Nissan Patrol platform with the same 5.6 V8. They use the same large JIS battery cases, and the extra seats, screens and climate zones mean capacity should never be downsized.

A Infiniti FX typically takes a maintenance-free flooded battery, in the range 80D26 – 105D31 (70–90 Ah). The FX takes a sealed maintenance-free battery. In Gulf heat the things that matter are the correct case size, enough capacity for the AC and accessories, and a recent manufacture date.
Can you replace a FX battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the FX need battery registration?
No. The FX does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a FX battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Where is the battery on an Infiniti Q50?
It is at the back of the engine bay under a plastic cover near the windscreen, not at the front where most cars have it. The cover lifts off after a few clips are released. The technician removes it, swaps the battery and refits the clips, all at the parking spot.
