Boxer layout, easy battery access
The flat boxer engine sits low, which leaves the battery in open view at the front corner of the engine bay. Access is straightforward, so most Subaru replacements are quick once the correct case and terminal layout are confirmed.
Auto Start-Stop batteries
Subarus with Auto Start-Stop are built with a stop-start grade battery, typically the Q-85 size in a D23L case. A plain 55D23L has the same footprint but does not tolerate repeated restarts. We fit the same grade the car came with.

Subaru XV battery questions
Which battery does a Subaru XV take?
The Subaru XV usually takes an EFB battery, most often Q-85 (65 Ah). This is the fitment most XV cars in the Gulf leave the factory with. Engine and model year can change it, so we match it to the label on your current battery before dispatch.
Can you replace a XV battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the XV need battery registration?
No. The XV does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a XV battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Does my Subaru Forester need an EFB battery?
If it has Auto Start-Stop, yes. Foresters from the 2019 generation onward generally have the system and are built with a stop-start grade battery. Earlier models without it use a conventional 55D23L. Look for an Auto Start-Stop off control in the car, or send us the year.
