What to know about Renault batteries
Radio code on older models
Older Renault radios lock when power is cut and ask for a four-digit security code afterwards. Find the code in the handbook pack before the swap if you can. Later cars with a touchscreen system generally start up without asking.
Mostly non-turbo, some start-stop
Gulf-spec Renaults have long used non-turbo 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5 petrol engines without start-stop, which take a standard DIN battery. Newer turbo models and European imports with Stop and Start need EFB or AGM. We check before dispatch.
Does the Latitude need battery registration?
Recent Renaults with Stop and Start watch the battery through a sensor on the negative terminal. Most relearn the new battery on their own after the car rests locked. Where a model calls for a diagnostic reset, we say so first.

Which battery does a Renault Latitude take?

Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a Latitude battery where it is parked?

Does the Latitude need battery registration?

How long does a Latitude battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Will my Renault radio ask for a code after the battery is changed?
