AGM, usually H7 or H8
Jaguars from about 2010 onward use AGM batteries, usually 80 Ah (H7) or 95 Ah (H8). Start-stop cars such as the F-Type add a small auxiliary battery beside the main one. Older S-Type and X-Type models run conventional flooded batteries.
Battery monitoring reset
Jaguar's battery monitoring system learns the battery's condition over time. After replacement it is reset with a diagnostic tool. Until that is done the car may keep start-stop off and show a low battery message despite the new battery.
Does the XFL need battery registration?
Jaguars from the XF onward use a battery monitoring system that is reset with a diagnostic tool after a new battery goes in. S-Type and X-Type models do not. We confirm ahead of dispatch whether that reset is included.

Which battery does a Jaguar XFL take?
A Jaguar XFL typically takes an AGM or EFB battery, in the range DIN 60 – DIN 80 (L2–L4). The XFL uses start-stop and energy recovery, so it needs an AGM or EFB battery. A conventional battery in its place wears out within months.
Can you replace a XFL battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the XFL need battery registration?
On most model years, yes. The car tracks the age and type of its battery, so the new one has to be registered or it keeps charging as if the old battery were still fitted. We confirm before dispatch whether registration is included for your XFL.
How long does a XFL battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Does a Jaguar F-Type have two batteries?
Yes on start-stop cars: a main AGM battery and a small auxiliary battery, both in the boot. The main one starts the engine and the auxiliary one supports restarts. We test them separately and confirm before dispatch which one we can replace at your location.
