What to know about Jaguar batteries
Battery monitoring reset
Jaguar's battery monitoring system learns the battery's condition over time. After replacement it is reset with a diagnostic tool. Until that is done the car may keep start-stop off and show a low battery message despite the new battery.
Stuck in Park when flat
The rotary or electronic gear selector needs power to release Park. With a dead battery the car cannot be rolled or pushed until the manual park release is used or power is restored. Restoring power at the car is usually simpler than recovery.
Does the XE need battery registration?
Jaguars from the XF onward use a battery monitoring system that is reset with a diagnostic tool after a new battery goes in. S-Type and X-Type models do not. We confirm ahead of dispatch whether that reset is included.

How long does a XE battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
How often should a rarely driven Jaguar have its battery checked?
Before summer and again after it is a sensible rhythm in the UAE. A rested battery should read about 12.6 V or more. Below 12.4 V it needs a proper recharge, not just a short drive. If the car sits for weeks, a mains maintainer protects the battery.
