What to know about Hongqi batteries
E-HS9 is fully electric
The E-HS9 has no engine to crank, but its 12V battery powers locks, screens and the contactors that connect the traction pack. We confirm the 12V type for your year before dispatch, as it may not be standard lead-acid.
48V system on the H9
The 2.0T H9 uses a 48V starter-generator with its own small lithium pack. The 12V battery is still a separate unit and is the one we test and replace. A fault on the 48V side needs the dealer.

A Hongqi E-QM5 typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range DIN 70 – DIN 100 (L3–L5). Most E-QM5 cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a E-QM5 battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the E-QM5 need battery registration?
No. The E-QM5 does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a E-QM5 battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Does the Hongqi H9 need an AGM battery?
Versions with stop-start or the 48V system normally call for AGM, and a car that came with AGM must get AGM again. We confirm from the engine and year, or from the label on the battery, before bringing a replacement.
