H5 and H9 saloons and the HS5 SUV are the Hongqi models most seen in the UAE, with the electric E-HS9 at the top. Many work as executive transport, which means hours of idling with rear comfort features drawing current.
On the electric E-HS9 a flat 12V battery leaves the car unable to power up even with the main pack charged. A boost to the 12V side usually wakes it, after which the car recharges its own 12V battery.
The 2.0T H9 uses a 48V starter-generator with its own small lithium pack. The 12V battery is still a separate unit and is the one we test and replace. A fault on the 48V side needs the dealer.
The E-HS9 has no engine to crank, but its 12V battery powers locks, screens and the contactors that connect the traction pack. We confirm the 12V type for your year before dispatch, as it may not be standard lead-acid.

A car that will not start does not always need a new battery. The technician tests first, then does the smallest job that gets you moving.

Versions with stop-start or the 48V system normally call for AGM, and a car that came with AGM must get AGM again. We confirm from the engine and year, or from the label on the battery, before bringing a replacement.
Long waits at idle with the AC, rear seats and screens running take more from the battery than idle charging puts back. A longer drive each day helps. We also check charging voltage to rule out an alternator fault.
We can boost its 12V battery, which is what an electric car needs to wake up. We cannot charge the traction pack at the roadside. If the main pack is empty, the car needs a charger or recovery.
