A Smart Fortwo typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range DIN 45 – DIN 60 (L1–L2). Most Fortwo cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a Fortwo battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the Fortwo need battery registration?
No. The Fortwo does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a Fortwo battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Why does my Fortwo battery keep going flat?
Short city trips are the usual reason. The starter takes a lot from a small battery and a five-minute drive does not put it back. A longer run each week helps. If it still goes flat, we test for a failing battery.
