Which battery does a Mercedes-Maybach EQS take?
A Mercedes-Maybach EQS typically takes an AGM or EFB battery, in the range DIN 60 – DIN 80 (L2–L4). The EQS uses start-stop and energy recovery, so it needs an AGM or EFB battery. A conventional battery in its place wears out within months.
Can you replace a EQS battery where it is parked?

Does the EQS need battery registration?
It depends on the year and specification. Versions with a battery sensor or start-stop need the new battery registered or the monitoring reset. Tell us the model year and we confirm before dispatch whether it applies and whether it is included.
How long does a EQS battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Can the 48 V battery in a Maybach be replaced at the roadside?
No. The 48 V battery belongs to the mild-hybrid system and is a workshop job. What we test and replace on site is the 12 V battery. If our test points to the 48 V side, we tell you so.
