Range extender, not a starter
On the L-series the 1.5 litre turbo engine is spun up by its own generator from the high-voltage pack. The 12V battery runs control systems only, so a flat one gives a dead car, not slow cranking.
Imports need a model check
Li cars here come from different years and specifications, and the 12V battery may be lithium. We confirm model, year and battery type before dispatch and say plainly if a roadside replacement is not possible.

Which battery does a Li L7 take?
A Li L7 typically takes a 12V lithium or auxiliary or AGM battery. The L7 runs its locks, screens and computers from a small low-voltage battery that is separate from the drive battery. Its type depends on the build year, so we confirm it from your VIN or a photo before sending a technician.
Can you replace a L7 battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the L7 need battery registration?
No. The L7 does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a L7 battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
My Li L9 has fuel and charge but will not power on. Why?
A flat 12V battery is the usual reason. The control computers need 12V before they can connect the traction pack or run the range extender. We boost the 12V system at the car and then check that battery.
