Boot-mounted 12V on hybrids
Hybrid models such as the ES 300h and the RX hybrids generally carry the 12V battery in the boot area. It is a vented AGM unit. A jump terminal under the bonnet lets us power the car up even when the battery is completely flat.
Smart key drain when parked
A Lexus keeps listening for its smart key while parked. Left for two or three weeks, or parked with the key stored close to the car, an older battery can drop too low to start. A jump start and a proper drive usually recover a healthy one.

Which battery does a Lexus LFA take?
A Lexus LFA typically takes a maintenance-free flooded battery, in the range 55D23 – 80D26 (60–70 Ah). The LFA takes a sealed maintenance-free battery. In Gulf heat the things that matter are the correct case size, enough capacity for the AC and accessories, and a recent manufacture date.
Can you replace a LFA battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the LFA need battery registration?
No. The LFA does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a LFA battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Where is the 12V battery on a Lexus hybrid?
On most Lexus hybrids, including the ES 300h and the RX hybrids, the 12V battery is in the boot or under the cargo floor. The technician removes the trim panel, swaps the battery and reconnects the vent tube. The large hybrid pack is separate and is not touched.
