M8 and M6 idle a lot
GAC people carriers run powered sliding doors, rear climate and seat motors, often while waiting with the engine idling. Charging at idle is weak, so these batteries tend to fail earlier than on the SUVs.
Petrol turbo versus hybrid
On petrol GAC models the 12V battery cranks the engine. On hybrid versions the high-voltage pack does that job and the 12V battery only wakes the system, so a different battery may be fitted.

Which battery does a GAC GN6 take?
A GAC GN6 typically takes a maintenance-free flooded or EFB or AGM battery, in the range DIN 70 – DIN 100 / 80D26 – 105D31. Most GN6 cars take a maintenance-free battery. Versions with auto start-stop need EFB or AGM instead. If your engine switches off at traffic lights, tell us and we bring the right type.
Can you replace a GN6 battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the GN6 need battery registration?
No. The GN6 does not need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool. Some settings such as the clock or one-touch windows may need resetting, which the technician does before leaving.
How long does a GN6 battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
Are GAC and Trumpchi the same thing?
Yes. Trumpchi is the name GAC uses for these cars in China, and export models are badged GAC. When you give us the model, either name works. We still confirm the year, because battery specification changed between generations.
