Increased battery discharge warning
iDrive shows 'Increased battery discharge' when the car has lost charge while parked. One warning after a long stand is normal. Repeated warnings mean the battery is near the end of its life or something is staying awake, and a test at the car tells which.
48V mild hybrid models
Many BMWs from about 2020 add a 48V battery and starter-generator. The 12V AGM battery is still there and still ages the same way in heat. We replace the 12V side, while 48V faults belong in a workshop with BMW diagnostics.
Does the 6 Series need battery registration?
A new BMW battery is registered with a diagnostic tool so the car resets its charging history. A change of capacity or type, such as 80 to 95 Ah, also needs coding. Before dispatch we confirm whether registration is included.

Which battery does a BMW 6 Series take?
A BMW 6 Series typically takes an AGM or EFB battery, in the range DIN 70 – DIN 95 (L3–L5). Later 6 Series model years have start-stop and energy recovery, which need an AGM or EFB battery. Earlier ones take a standard maintenance-free unit. The label on your current battery tells us which.
Can you replace a 6 Series battery where it is parked?
Yes. We come to homes, offices, basement and mall parking and the roadside across our Dubai coverage. Send the building name, parking level and any security rules so the technician can reach the car.
Does the 6 Series need battery registration?
On most model years, yes. The car tracks the age and type of its battery, so the new one has to be registered or it keeps charging as if the old battery were still fitted. We confirm before dispatch whether registration is included for your 6 Series.
How long does a 6 Series battery last in the UAE?
About two years is typical here, against three to five in cooler climates. Heat ages the battery whether the car is driven or not, and short trips with the AC on full never quite recharge it. A test before summer shows how much life is left.
